On a Parisian afternoon soaked in clay and redemption, Cameron Norrie rose from the ranks of the underestimated to stun the unpredictable Daniil Medvedev in five gripping sets. The 2021 US Open champion once again stumbled on the red stuff.

With scores of 7-5, 6-3, 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, the Brit played like a man possessed—fueled by drama, pride, and a refusal to fade quietly. Point by point, he fought, sweated, and let out a primal roar that echoed across Court Suzanne-Lenglen.

Medvedev, for his part, looked as lost as ever on clay. He tried everything except changing his attitude: hesitant drop shots, sarcastic self-talk, the usual chaos.

But this wasn’t just a win. It was a battle cry. Norrie didn’t come to Paris for sightseeing —he came to fight, to annoy, to rise again.

And rise he did. Gritting his teeth, with a lionheart and a wild mane screaming along: “I’m back, damn it!”
